HBHL Training Day

The Helmholtz International BigBrain Analytics and Learning Laboratory (HIBALL) and Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives (HBHL) are teaming up to host an exciting training day in Berlin on October 27, 2025, in conjunction with the 9th BigBrain Workshop taking place October 28 and 29, 2025.

This year's workshop marks the closing symposium of HIBALL, which was co-funded by HBHL and contributed to its mission through reinforced utilisation and co-development of the latest AI and high-performance computing (HPC) technologies for building highly detailed 3D brain models. This year's HBHL training day again is the perfect opportunity for researchers at all career stages to learn about big data analytics, human brain atlasing, and computational neuroscience in inspiring lectures and hands-on workshops. But that's not all! The event also provides a fantastic networking opportunity to connect with peers, researchers, and renowned experts.

We are thrilled to announce that Helen Zhou (National University of Singapore) will be delivering the keynote talk on Integrating Brain Imaging and AI: Applications in Neurological Disorders. We will once again have a NeuroAI session on Reconstruction and Matching of Drosophila Neuronal Morphologies, led by Dagmar Kainmüller (MDC Berlin).

The training day will offer stimulating hands-on sessions on a variety of open tools and services:

To ensure a smooth start, please read the session descriptions and requirements in advance, and make sure you have created any necessary accounts or installed the required software beforehand. If you are uncertain which session to attend, each hands-on session will be briefly introduced at 10:40, after which you may select the one most relevant to your interests.
