Getting to Berlin

Berlin is a major transport hub with excellent connections to all parts of Germany and Europe. Here are some of the most convenient ways to get to Berlin:

By Flight
Berlin's main airport is Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (BER). BER is located about 25 kilometers southwest of the city center.

By Train
Berlin Hauptbahnhof (central station) is a major railway hub with connections to all parts of Germany and Europe. There are several trains per hour from all major German cities, as well as from many other European cities.

By Car
Berlin is well-connected to the German motorway network. The A10 motorway encircles the city, and there are several motorways that lead directly into the city center. However, traffic congestion can be a problem, so it is advisable to allow plenty of time for your journey.

Tickets

Since you will be staying for 2 weeks, and might want to explore Berlin and its surroundings, the best option is to buy the Deutschlandticket from mo.pla . It costs 58 EUR, it's valid for 1 calendar month (in this case, if bought in August, it will be valid until the 31st of August), and it can be used all over Germany. This means that you can take any train, bus, or tram inside and outside Berlin. Transfer to/from the BER Airport is also covered.

The other tickets from BVG (the Berlin Public Transport Company) are more expensive, and they can only be used in specific zones.

You can buy the Deutschlandticket from this link on the mo.pla website:

https://www.mopla.solutions/de/tickets/deutschlandticket

The ticket is sold as a subscription that renews at the end of every month, but you can cancel it anytime. We will remind you to cancel the subscription at the end of the event.
