Workshop Coupled Interactions 2.0
Geomar
"One key aspect of Topic 8 research is to study coupled interactions; here, we aim to expand our understanding of the properties and behaviour of different geomaterials (e.g., rocks, minerals, fluids, gases), investigate how these geomaterials interact, and explore how different processes of natural and engineered geosystems are linked."
This is how we advertised our first T8 workshop 6 years ago and much has happened in the PoF period since the start in 2021. Nevertheless, the research questions we had back then are still of eminent importance and will guide our research also in the upcoming PoFV period.
We will therefore have our next Topic 8 science workshop on “Coupled Interactions 2.0”. The workshop will take place from 24.-25.11.2025 (noon to noon) at the Geomar in Kiel (Wischhofstr. 1-3). We aim to bring together researchers from UFZ, Geomar and GFZ that work on the following and related themes:
- Fluid-rock-(bio) interactions
- THMC/BR modelling
- Cross-scales (time/spatial) of coupled interactions
- Linking physical and chemical processes
We invite contributions on systems that are natural, engineered, experimental or modelled. We plan to have oral presentations (~ 15 minutes slots) and an extended poster session on Monday (24.11.2025) afternoon. In addition, we want to discuss the way to PoFV and how we will continue working on common themes like coupled processes.
Please register until 30.10.2025 using the registration bottom.
