The Innovation Link: Research Infrastructures for EU Competitiveness
At Helmholtz we are exploring the future of research and innovation supported by Europe's cutting-edge facilities: Europe’s large-scale Research Infrastructures (RIs) have an enormous potential to bridge fundamental science and industrial innovation. They can act as dynamic Technology Infrastructures (TIs), offering a platform for long-term cooperation with industry in technology development. How exactly can collaborative ventures across industry and academia strengthen Europe's competitiveness? What role can they play in fostering technological sovereignty and attracting global talent? How do complementary facilities best collaborate across Europe? How can RI and TI become key drivers of innovation together – and which EU funding instruments and policy frameworks could support this evolution? Drawing from concrete Helmholtz examples, we will discuss with experts from science, industry and policy how strategic collaboration with industry advances Europe’s innovation ecosystem.
We are sure that you will have many additional questions. We will literally make room for them, and you are welcome to ask our experts yourself!
The event will include an exhibition of Hi-Acts to showcase how large research infrastructures support industry.
