New Trends in Computational Learning & Scientific ML 2025 (COMP-LEARN-25) is a three-day in-person workshop held at LUM University (Casamassima-Bari) on July 2–4, 2025, that brings together researchers and students at the intersection of machine learning, numerical analysis, and natural sciences. The program investigates physics-informed neural networks, operator learning, surrogate and reduced-order models for high-dimensional PDEs, optimal control, uncertainty quantification, data assimilation, emerging quantum-machine-learning techniques, and the Python/Julia/MATLAB toolchains for translating theory into code. Real-world case studies, ranging from energy grids and environmental forecasting to irrigation science, fractional-order dynamics, and other complex systems, serve to anchor the discussion. COMP-LEARN-25 aims to spark new collaboration among Italian universities, CNR institutes, and industry partners, demonstrate fully reproducible research workflows, and serve as a high-level learning sprint for LUM students and early-career scientists interested in mastering next-generation Scientific ML.
