Prerequisites
This workshop is meant to be a beginner-friendly introduction suitable for newbies when it comes to data submission and the collection of appropriate biological metadata.
Please register. There is a maximum of 25 attendees, confirmation will be given on a first come, first served basis.
Bring your own:
- Dataset and short description (max. 2 minutes presentation)
- Laptop
- ORCID: https://orcid.org/
→ Create an ORCID beforehand if you don’t have one yet.
Internet:
Eduroam WLAN
Your preparation before the workshop starts:
You will be describing and preparing the environmental and biological metadata for your own (real or fictive) datasets to ease your future upload in repositories.
Bring your own dataset and prepare a short description (1-2 slides) by answering the following questions:
- What is your sample?
- What is your model system?
You will receive a reminder 1 week before the event.
If you don’t have any data yet but have already planned your experimental design:
Simply describe your future data set based on it’s biome, environmental and biological metadata by answering the above questions.
For example: You are interested evaluating the influence of the plant microbiome influence on plant disease? Then your sample might be a cut-out from leaves or root and soil samples and your model system might be Arabidopsis thaliana in a greenhouse setting or in the wild.
