Call for Abstracts

Thank you very much for considering to submit to our ML@HZDR symposium 2021. With this symposium, we hope to spread the knowledge about applications and developments of ML methods at HZDR.

We hope that practitioners will be able to present their ongoing or past efforts with ML. At equal priority, we also hope that scientists unacquainted with ML will get the chance to present their data-driven challenges and ask the community how they can proceed.

Possible Contributions

We invite three types of presentations:

  • overview talks by institute heads, department leads or group leaders; 15 minutes for presentations and 5 minutes for questions

  • spotlight talks by those working on ML methods or their application to data. Note, we explicitly invite scientists to submit presentations here openly ask if a specific scientific dataset can be addressed with ML; 10 minutes for presentations and 5 minutes for questions

  • open data challenges, here we invite scientists to present open/unsolved scientific challenges in their group or institute that they wish to addressed with ML (and have data for) and for which the stakeholders would like feedback by the community. talk details: 10 minutes for presentations and 5 minutes for questions.
