Introduction to Git and GitLab
The workshop provides a practical introduction into the usage of the version control system Git in combination with the collaboration platform GitLab. The topics are presented using a live coding approach which allows you to directly try out all steps on your own.
Learning Goals
By the end of the course, you will be able to:

Perform the initial Git Setup

Apply the basic Git workflow

Apply the feature branch workflow

Work with remote repositories in GitLab

Apply a basic GitLab contribution workflow using issues and merge requests
Prerequisites
This is an introductory workshop. No special knowledge is required. Experience in using a shell is an advantage.
Target Group
This course mainly targets researchers interested in a practical introduction with Git and GitLab.

The course content is coordinated, so we strongly recommend that you do not miss any part of the course. To receive a certificate we expect at least 80% attendance and active participation.
