BYOIC - THE unconferencing session for imaging!

BYOIC: The Unconference Session for Imaging – Break the Rules, Solve the Problems!

Imagine a conference where traditional rules are left behind, and collaboration, creativity, and dynamic discussions take center stage. Welcome to BYOIC, the ultimate unconferencing session for imaging! This is where researchers tackle challenges, spark innovation, and find solutions that could transform their fields.

Got a bottleneck slowing your research? What challenge, if solved, would revolutionize your daily work or make a huge impact in your field? No problem is too big or too small for BYOIC. Whether it’s a longstanding puzzle or an everyday obstacle, this is your chance to share it and ignite cross-disciplinary solutions.

No formalities, no rigid schedules. In the spirit of an unconference, there are no keynote speakers or pre-set agendas. Instead, you’ll pitch your imaging challenge in just 1 minute, and then dive into a 45-minute collaborative discussion with like-minded participants. Expect dynamic, fast-paced exchanges with a spectrum of experts, where the next big idea might just solve your task!

Be part of something bigger. Submit your topic and ideas as an issue (instructions below; comments are also welcome) and let the imaging community tackle it together. At BYOIC, it’s about connecting, sharing ideas, and pushing the boundaries of imaging science. The possibilities are endless—this is science without limits! Be a part of it.

Session format: At the beginning you give a super-short pitch on your topic (1min). This pitch round is followed by a 45-minute open discussion in self-selected groups. Let's see if someone has THE idea for a solution to YOUR task.

How to contribute: Submit your topic to GitHub https://github.com/Helmholtz-Imaging/25-bring-your-own-image-challenge and prepare one slide to pitch your challenge and submit it before the session, no later than 11:00 on June 26 to the conference organizers.
