Deep Learning for Neuroscience - Prerequisites for the hands-on session

Detailed checklist for BEFORE the course

IMPORTANT - Please check all steps! Some things need to be done some days BEFORE the course!!!

If you did not complete the above checklist before the course, unfortunately,
using the supercomputers will not be possible.

What software is necessary for this course?

  • The course is platform-independent. It can even be followed by a Windows user, but if possible, avoid it. In general. Forever.
  • A terminal. On Linux and Mac, it's just called "Terminal". Little familiarity with it is required. On Windows, the WSL installs it.
  • Some knowledge of the Python language.

To those participating only in the second part of the hands-on part of the course. Please ensure you are familiar with the supercomputer, Jupyter JSC, how to create an environment, and how to launch a job (concepts covered in the first part of the course).

The course material is available at https://go.fzj.de/dl-in-neuroscience
We will be making some final commits to it, so make sure you reload it every now and then.
