Combining XeLaTeX and Python-controlled subprocesses we can create a set of participant certificates from a given template by replacing dedicated comments with the individual information before rendering.

3. Sending Emails

By providing the tool with the login to an email server it can send the certificates to the participants by employing an HTML-based email template.

The mail addresses from the participants are harvested from Indico.
