Modeling, Observation & Data Science: Hand-in-hand towards 'planetary solutions'

The RU5 ModMon and its IP5 RobustPics invite for another ModMonDay. This annual, general-assembly-like event is a 'festival of science' with the intension to foster information and exchange among the members of RU5/IP5 and their friends on scientific achievements, new methodological developments, new research projects, or ideas for future activities, but also to help onboarding new colleagues.

The mission of RU5/IP5 is to support the identifIcation of development paths which sustain the multifunctionality of landscapes under future climate and global change. This requires appropriate model systems, observation data, and techniques for model-data-fusion for enabling large-scale predictions at operationally relevant resolutions and improving causal understanding.

The particular focus of this year's ModMonDay is to demonstrate that an appropriate hand-in-hand of modeling, observation and data science can, in several respects, support the development of solutions for e.g. climate adaptation in different sectors of landscape management or improving preparedness in face of an increasing occurrence of climate extremes. We will also address some challenges coming along with 'solution- orientation'.

Hint on the planned Poster Session:  It would be great to learn more about your recent research. Simply based on existing posters - no matter for what context they have been originally designed and in what format. All kind of posters are welcome: on e.g. specific scientific achievements, new research projects, or some data product (incl. monitors or digital twins).
