Course content:

Day 1

1) Introduction / refresh of memories

  • Mean/Variance, Covariance, Correlation
  • Probabilities & Distributions
  • The Bayesian approach (the general idea + some application)
  • Hypothesis testing (t-test, ANOVA)

2) First graphical look at your data / Data exploration (R)

Day 2

3) Hypothesis testing (extensive!)

4) Linear Models, Multiple linear regression, GLMs

Day 3

5) Multivariate Statistics

  • Importance for ecological data
  • Justification on when to use Multiv. Statistics

6) Spare time for a course summary/recap, (more) application & open questions

 

Target group: Master students, PhD candidates and Postdocs

Pre-requisites: interest in the topic
