Description

Background

Success in research and entrepreneurship relies not only on expertise but also on the ability to collaborate effectively. This interactive workshop introduces the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework as a foundation for self-awareness, personal development, and team collaboration. Participants reflect on their own strengths across 22 key competencies and examine how personality influences informal team roles. Through guided self-reflection and group dialogue, the workshop links individual insight with practical strategies for building resilient, co-creative research and startup teams.

Target audience

PhD candidates, Postdocs, early-career researchers, and professionals in transfer and talent management who want to deepen their self-awareness, understand their role in teams, and enhance collaboration skills to improve team effectiveness.

Benefits

Participants develop a clearer understanding of their personal strengths, growth areas, and preferred team roles. They learn how self-reflection can support more effective collaboration and get impulses to foster psychological safety and shared ownership within diverse teams. By applying the IDG framework and Belbin’s team roles, they leave with new insights for personal development and team-building - key elements for thriving in research, innovation, and startup environments.
