Description

Overview

In today’s fast-paced world of information, clear and visually engaging research communication is more important than ever. Whether through a poster, slide deck, or infographic, how you show your research can be just as impactful as how you write or speak about it. This course empowers early-career researchers to present their work visually—using thoughtful design, clear data storytelling, and creative techniques to make ideas stick.

What You’ll Learn

This course introduces best practices in visual research communication, with a strong focus on poster design. Drawing inspiration from Trees, Maps and Theorems, participants will explore how to organize complex information visually, design effective infographics, and use animation to support quick comprehension.

Through hands-on tutorials, real-world examples, and peer feedback, participants will develop and refine their own research posters. The course culminates in short guided poster presentations to practice clear, confident delivery.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Design a visually compelling, well-organized research poster
  • Apply principles of clarity, hierarchy, and flow to data and layout
  • Use color, typography, and layout intentionally to enhance comprehension
