GlobalFoundries (GF) is a leading manufacturer of essential semiconductors the world relies on to live, work and connect. The company innovates and partners with customers to deliver more power-efficient, high-performance products for the automotive, smart mobile devices, internet of things, communications infrastructure and other high-growth markets. With its global manufacturing footprint spanning the U.S., Europe, and Asia, GF is a trusted and reliable source for customers around the world. GF Dresden (Fab 1) produces innovative semiconductor products for its customers in 22nm, 28nm, 40nm and 55nm technologies. With a clean room and laboratory area of 60,000m², Fab 1is one of the largest and most modern semiconductor plants in Europe. Around 3,000 employees from over 50 nations work at the site.

The company visit program is an event format to which the Postdoc Center HZDR-TUD and the Technology Transfer and Innovation department are jointly inviting. The aim of this program is to provide insights into various companies, to make contacts in the working world and thus to explore and expand professional networks in a wide variety of areas. Each time we go to a company (throughout Saxony), explore the company location, find out interesting facts about the global company and talk to management and employees from the departments about research and development, corporate culture and opportunities for cooperation.
