Graduate Program

Data Science with MATLAB

by Dr Mihaela Jarema

Europe/Berlin
Description

Short Summary

Data science is revolutionizing science and industry alike. MATLAB makes data science easy with tools to access, explore and preprocess data, and build machine learning and predictive models.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn techniques to easily work with big data, including the ability to use the same code to scale processing to the cloud, illustrated on a seismological data set. You will apply machine learning using point-and-click apps for interactively training, comparing, and tuning models, and exporting models/automatically generated code for further analysis, integration, or deployment.

You will have online access to MATLAB and GPU resources for the workshop, no MATLAB installations are required. We recommend taking a free, two-hour interactive online introduction to MATLAB before the workshop if you don’t have basic knowledge of MATLAB.

About the Presenter

Dr. Mihaela Jarema is part of the Academia Group at MathWorks in Munich/Germany. She partners with research institutes in Germany to accelerate their discovery and learning. Mihaela holds a PhD degree in computer science from Technische Universität München. During her PhD, she has used MATLAB to model ensemble data, evaluate, and visualize the associated variability.
