Description

Short Summary

A confident, authentic demeanor, a good sense of body language, a healthy way of dealing with mistakes, and appreciation for colleagues’ suggestions and ideas – all of these are key skills in academia as well as in the business world. Approaches from  systemic coaching and techniques from improvisational theater can help develop these skills and successfully master difficult  conversation and presentation situations.

This online workshop provides training in techniques for challenging communication situations. In this way, you will sharpen your perception of body language. You will practice reacting spontaneously and self-confidently to unforeseen situations, and  expand your options for handling difficulties in presentations and lectures.

This training will increase your communication skills. You will learn:

  • to deal confidently with unforeseen situations, e.g. in presentations
    and conversations.
  • to be aware of spontaneous impulses and to act on them.
  • to recognize body language signals and interpret them correctly.
  • to present yourself confidently, authentically and convincingly.

Prior acting experience is not required. Please make sure you have enough space in front of your webcam for exercises.

Information about the Training

The training consists of an online course in the open-source learning management environment “Moodle” (GNU GPL). It includes live online workshops given in the opensource online workshop system “BigBlueButton” (GNU GPL) as well as self- study and reflection tasks. The Moodle course will provide all necessary information for the preparation and follow-up exercises of every module, as well as a platform for discussions among and feedback from all participants and the trainer.

Prior to the course an account on moodle.gyger-training.de will be created for every participant using first name, last name, and your email address.

All participants are kindly asked to register to the Moodle platform at least one day before the start of the training. The online workshops can only be accessed via the Moodle platform. Please log in to the online workshop sessions 10 – 15 min.
before the beginning of every online workshop
in order to handle potential technical problems and allow us to start in time.

The social breaks are times when participants can interact informally via video chat without a set topic. Participation is optional. The times for these breaks are not included in the total time.
