Description

As climate change and urbanization rapidly alter the risk landscape, a comprehensive understanding of disaster risk dynamics is crucial. Currently, the impacts of extreme weather events are often studied in isolation, limiting insight into their interconnected effects. There is a gap in understanding how cascading impacts—across economic, social, and health sectors—are triggered and amplified. Bridging this gap is key to developing effective adaptation strategies, improving early warning systems, and enhancing disaster relief. This workshop will bring together interdisciplinary researchers from economics, social sciences, natural sciences, and public health to foster collaborative solutions and identify shared goals and best practices.
