Open Science Day

Increasing digitalization does not stop at research and therefore affects all of us. In this context, Open Science practices are increasingly gaining importance. Open Science does not only foster the worldwide sharing of scientific results and foster collaboration with others in new, open ways, but also enables to take other digital products of scientific work such as methods, protocols etc. into account. Thus, Open Science holds unique scientific, social and economic potential.

To further promote Open Science at GFZ and to support the cultural change towards Open Science that is already taking place, the Department Geoinformation invites all GFZ employees and guests to the

1st GFZ Open Science Day on March 3, 2025, 9 am - 3 pm, in House H.

The event will take a look at the most important pillars of Open Science and will also highlight their relevance for the current reform efforts in research assessment.  Workshops will provide opportunities for sharing ideas and discussion. We will conclude our gathering with a „vernissage" of an exciting exhibition of Helmholtz Imaging at the library (A17).
