Focus groups are a social scientific study method; they are moderated discussions on a specific topic. Focus groups are recorded and later analyzed.
In this focus group, we would like to discuss with AI scientists their perceptions of AI research’s ecological footprint and understand how features for energy consumption monitoring can shape sustainable AI practices in AI engineering.
Participation requires absolutely no preparation; you know the answers to all the questions we will discuss already! :)
At the beginning of the session, we will go through the practicalities of the study together, have time to answer open questions, and - only after all questions are resolved - sign an informed consent sheet for study participation and start the recording. I am attaching the study information here if you want to have a look in advance.
If you decide to participate in the discussion, you can withdraw your consent anytime, even after the session.
