Description

We're excited to invite you to join us for the Information & Data Science Incubator Workshop 25-1, taking place April 14-15, 2025 at DESY in Hamburg.

Workshop Overview

At the incubator workshop we develop new ideas for Information & Data Science. Now that the five Helmholtz Information & Data Science platforms are heading towards institutionalisation, it is time to refresh the spirit of this dynamical, creative, ground-breaking framework. This incubator workshop aims at discovering new ways to leverage the HIDS platform activities for pushing forward Helmholtz research with the long-term perspective in mind. At the workshop, we will connect researchers with platform representatives in interactive sessions to develop groundbreaking ideas that rejuvenate this format.

Preliminary Agenda

The workshop is structured as a lunch-to-lunch meeting, beginning on Monday at 12:00 PM and concluding on Tuesday by 2:00 PM, with an optional DESY Tour scheduled for 3:00 PM. The agenda includes:

  • Reflections on the Information and Data Science Framework: Presentations and engaging interactive sessions to discuss the framework’s achievements, current topics, and future opportunities.

  • Exploring Data Hubs: Expert presentations and group discussions aimed at finding common principles and overarching use cases for data hubs within Helmholtz.

  • Reviewing the HIDS Framework Portfolio: Presentations and interactive discussions focused on enhancing collaboration and exchange between various initiatives.

  • Consultation on Future Funding Opportunities: A collaborative discussion about how future project calls funded by the Impulse and Networking funds could be leveraged effectively.

Please note: While the agenda is currently set, current events may require adjustments at short notice.
