Description

Future Innovators “About Innovators and Innovation” on June 24, 2025

Online and in English.

Kick-off of our fourth iteration of the Future Innovators Academy! We want to introduce you to our motivation and clarify what you can expect from our programme.

You want to know it now? Great!

Getting to know people from different disciplines with the same interest in transferring research to the real world, approaches to generate impactful ideas systematically, and finally, providing first tools and paths to make it happen. Also, what did it look like in our first run, and what might spark your interest in our summer run?

Our Kick-Off will transform into an interactive workshop by Katja Spreckelmeyer.

Katja has previously conducted research on the psychology of decision making, including reward-oriented behavior and addiction, at different academic institutions in Germany and the US, most recently studying the psychology behind design thinking at the Center for Design Research at Stanford University. Since 2011, Katja has been coaching product development teams to increase their innovative thinking through user-centred design. At Google, she manages a team of user-experience researchers, focusing on improving the search experience of finding small businesses on Google Search and Maps.

Workshop Goals:

  • Get to know systematic support for idea generation and problem solving, especially for improving, further developing, or redesigning existing products, processes, or concepts
  • Learn about user-centered product development
  • Learn techniques for how to collect user perspectives
  • Learn how to use user insights to spark innovative ideas

Please note that this event has Helmholtz Associates as its primary target group. Third parties are also welcome to register and will be notified 2 weeks before the event if they have been accepted.
