    • Online Workshop: Basics and IT Infrastructure of ELN Systems "LabIMotion".

      Workshop Overview:
This online workshop is designed for researchers, laboratory staff, and IT professionals who want to gain a basic understanding of Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and their integration into IT infrastructure. The focus is on the core functions and technical infrastructure of the well-known ELN system LabIMotion. In this seminar, we will cover LabIMotion; further seminars on other systems will follow.

As part of the Daphne4NFDI vision meeting, this workshop contributes to the overarching goal of fostering excellence in data management and digital transformation within the scientific community. Participants will also engage in discussions aligned with the strategic objectives of Daphne4NFDI, learning about collaborative approaches and best practices for research data infrastructure.

      Target Audience:
The workshop is ideal for beginners who are getting acquainted with ELN systems for the first time, as well as for IT specialists responsible for the implementation and support of this system.

      Workshop Content:

Introduction to ELN Systems: Benefits of digitization in the lab and the basic functions of LabIMotion.

Core Functions: Creating projects, documenting experiments, importing and exporting data.

User Management and Roles: Setting up user accounts, assigning permissions, and collaborative features.

IT Infrastructure: Technical requirements, server specifications, and integration into existing networks.

Security and Data Protection: Best practices for securing sensitive data and compliance with legal regulations.

Practical Demonstration: Step-by-step guide for installation and setup of the system.

      Requirements:
Participants should have basic IT knowledge, but no prior experience with ELN systems is required.

      Workshop Goals:
By the end of the workshop, participants will understand the basics of using LabIMotion and know how to integrate and maintain this ELN system within their lab processes. Additionally, they will gain insights into how the system aligns with the data management principles of Daphne4NFDI and how they can contribute effectively to data-driven research.
