Purpose of the Training
In this training you will be introduced to fundamental leadership principles and understand how to apply them to concrete leadership situations. You will be invited to talk about your individual leadership challenges and work on developing personal leadership strategies.
It is designed in particular for Group Leaders and Postdocs currently in a leadership role at the GFZ or PIK.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the training, you will have the necessary tools to:
· Build High-Performing Teams: Leverage individual strengths and foster a culture of high performance.
· Practice Active Listening: Improve team communication and problem-solving through active listening.
· Apply Inclusive Leadership Principles: Understand diverse working and communication styles to support team dynamics.
· Navigate Conflict Effectively: Resolve conflicts with supervisors and direct reports, strengthening team cohesion and maintaining a positive work environment.
The Trainer
The leadership training will be conducted by Dr. Arlena Jung, an organizational sociologist with a background in systems and communication theory. She has 10 years’ experience in accompanying leaders, teams and organizations (including universities and research institutes) in the realization of their development goals.
