Description

We cordially invite all scientists and PhD students working within the Integration Platform 1 - IP Sustainable Future Land Use to the Annual Scientific Retreat 2024.

The meeting will take place at Schloss Hotel Schweinsburg in Neukirchen/Pleiße near Zwickau from 21 to 22 November 2024

For more information on IP1 please see here: https://www.ufz.de/index.php?en=48644.

Building on the format of our previous IP retreat in 2023, we once again would like to engage with you in discussions on our research within the Research Unit Ecosystems of the Future and across the RUs. The retreat will provide an opportunity especially to further strengthen and expand our collaborations. Besides the interesting scientific discussions there will be ample room to also socialize and have a good time together.

The common targets of the IP Retreat are:

- Scientific exchange & social life

- Inform and be informed – status and achievements of current DPPs and other projects in the IP

- Information on infrastructures, methods and platforms

- Maintain the exchange across Departments and RUs

- Keynote speeches from other IPs, senior scientists from IP1 or external expertise

   - Planning of 2025 IP1 budget

We would like to invite all of you to register a contribution for I. the session on Thursday afternoon on 'Advancing science with deep learning' or else II. the session on Friday morning on ‘How AND Why to bend the curve of biodiversity loss?'. You can register the contribution together with your personal registration.

A binding registration is required to assess the need for rooms, chairs and litres of coffee. To register, please log in via Helmholtz AAI. We kindly ask you to register for the retreat until October, 31st, 2024. A successful registration is confirmed by an automatic email reply. If you receive no such e-mail (and it is not in the spam folder), don’t hesitate to contact the organizer.

For questions and suggestions, please contact the IP/TB manager Cornelia Baessler.

Looking forward to seeing you!
