Introduction to Machine Learning

In the Introduction to Machine Learning course, we delve into the practical application of machine learning techniques for data analysis using Python. This course is designed for individuals who want to start using machine learning for data analysis, focusing less on traditional statistics and more on predictive modeling. We will review the application of linear regression and then generalize this to logistic regression and shrinkage methods. We will also cover k-nearest neighbors and decision trees as alternative methods. While applying these methods, we will also apply model evaluation and selection, including cross-validation and performance metrics.

By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently select and utilize suitable machine learning techniques, interpret your findings effectively, and apply them to real-world scenarios.

Prerequisites: Programming skills with Python, e.g. course Introduction to Python. Basic understanding of statistical methods, in particular regression analysis, is recommended, e.g. course Introduction to Statistics.
