This workshop, organized as part of the EU project Geosphere Infrastructures for Questions into Integrated Research (Geo-INQUIRE) (https://www.geo-inquire.eu/), seeks to foster collaboration and discussions on the exploration and definition of a standardized format for both real earthquake motion data and numerical modeled synthetics, collect and give access to the available/ready-prepared data and synthetics from research groups around the world, explore data lake platform options, identify target user groups and examine potential engineering uses of such data lakes.
The initiative builds upon the discussions and meetings organized by the Consortium of Organizations for Strong Motion Observation Systems (COSMOS) in the past two years (https://pubs.usgs.gov/publication/70248701).
Please note that registration is free for both invited and open-registration participants. However, free accommodation is only provided for invited participants. Additionally, transportation expenses will not be covered for any participants.
Target Audience:
This workshop is aimed at experienced scientists working in fields such as physics-based numerical modeling, seismology, and earthquake engineering, as well as related fields like insurance and data lakes. It is designed for both users and creators of data lakes.
The meeting will be conducted via Zoom for online participants, and recordings will be made available online afterward. Those unable to attend in person can register for online participation.
Registration deadline : 5th September 2024
Poster presentation: We encourage all participants to present a poster. The required format for posters is A0 size (841mm x 1189mm) in portrait orientation. The posters will be displayed in the poster hall for the entire duration of the workshop. Participants are expected to present during the two poster sessions.
