The training will cover essential concepts about hardware abstraction and experiment execution using Ophyd and Bluesky. The event is aimed at Controls Engineers, Beamline Scientists and Experts wanting to learn more about experiment orchestration.

The topics are:

• Creating Hardware Abstraction Layer using Ophyd
• Running Experimental Procedures using Bluesky’s RunEngine
• Collecting Metadata into standard Documents
• Data Processing, Streaming and Visualization
• Introduction to Interactive Python Shell and Magics

 

Each section will be complemented by a short session of examples and exercises.

A basic knowledge of Python is preferable.

Participants will have access to a Virtual Machine with all the necessary tools to run exercises and try the demos on their own.
