In this advanced course, you will get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art experimental and computational techniques in biological physics. You will conduct detailed wet-lab experiments in evolution, genetics, cellular decision-making, and gene expression, and run computer simulations on the same topics. Similarly, lectures on the biological background will be presented from experimental and theoretical perspectives. At the end of the course, participants will present their work.
Course content: You will conduct experiments on the evolution of drug resistance, model population genetics and evolution, and perform statistical analysis of experiments.
Course schedule: The course will take place full-day on all five days.
The registration deadline is 12 February 2024. In the case of overbooking, fellows of the IHRS BioSoft and students of the University of Cologne will be preferentially admitted.
