Foundations of Research Software Publication

The workshop focuses on actionable advice about how to prepare your research software before publishing it or submitting it alongside a research publication. In this context, we discuss minimum practices and illustrate all steps using a data analysis script.

This workshop covers the following topics:

  • Code repository structuring
  • Minimum coding practices
  • Minimum documentation practices
  • Software licensing
  • Software citation
  • Minimum software release practices


Prerequisites: This is an introductory workshop. Basic programming skills and knowledge of the use of Git are an advantage for participation, but not essential.
