What is this about?
The Software Carpentries are a worldwide non-profit organization that helps researchers to acquire the necessary foundational skills to get started with research software engineering.
This is done in the form of courses which are taught by certified instructors. This training will allow its participants to improve their didactic skills and - if desired - become such an instructor
Who can join the training and how?
Members of the Helmholtz Association who received an instructor training code from HIDA and members of the EMBL are elegible to join this training. Please submit your application by using the respective forms below.
When will the training take place?
The training will take place on 7., 8. and 14., 15. May 2024 from 10:00 until 14:00. Note that you have to be present and participate at all dates to be allowed to certify as an official Carpentries Instructor.
Will I have to do anything else to receive a certification?
After the training you will be asked to provide a short teaching example and make a small contribution to the Carpentries' teaching material. Details and the exact procedure will be given during the lessons.
